We have decided to use the beautiful Lotus flower as it is a sign of purity, re-birth and strength.
The resurrection of life.
A new life and new challenges and this is how I see you lovely transgender women.
Trans women face significant discrimination in many areas of life, including in employment and access to housing. They also face physical and sexual violence and hate crimes, including from partners.
In 2018 research has found that two in five trans people had had a hate crime committed against them in the last year, two in five trans young people had attempted suicide and one in eight trans people had been physically attacked by colleagues or customers at work. This shows a worrying increase in transphobic violence and abuse.
When we say women, that word always includes Trans women. There are no ifs, ands or buts about it. A woman’s gender identity is her innermost concept of being female.
A Trans woman’s gender identity doesn’t define or limit her womanhood, it simply describes her journey to womanhood.
